Happy Sunday! I hope you were able to enjoy some of that beautiful sunshine and warmth yesterday! ☀️
I got out for a walk with two of my besties who I hadn't seen in awhile. It was evident we had a lot of catching up to do.
Those groups of friends who make the time to see one another regularly! 👏 Bravo 👏!!!
I think time can slip away without us even realizing. Our lives and work get so busy that sometimes we have little energy left.
The world we live in now has created a norm where we are led by hectic schedules. Some of us are drowning in work or school loads and then many of you are also juggling an entire household and their schedules.
Some of you may remember a time when you were done of your work day you left the office and that was it until the next workday.
If you are able to do that today, you are likely considered to be a lucky one.
We are told that if we move more, get outside, socialize to feel more connected and take care of ourselves, we will be healthier.
In an a world that does not always create space for those things, what do we do?
Well, I know I have had to work on being better at setting boundaries and prioritizing things. Does it always work? No! But do I stop trying? No!
I didn't know if my day yesterday, with all of the things I had on my plate to accomplish, I could squeeze a walk in with my friends too.
In a quick moment, I made a decision that 'dammit, I am going to go and if I don't get what I had planned done, so frigging what!' Seeing my friends became my number one priority in that moment.
I knew that connection and friend time was something I needed. It had been too long.
It literally filled my cup for the rest of the day/weekend. Those conversations are real and raw. They remind you how closely connected you are to those people who are 'chosen' family.
Friendships, at any age, are the icing on the 🧁 cake! When everything crumbles around you, they hold you together, fill in the gaps and become the added layer you need in any situation. Sometimes they even go the extra mile by adding a cherry on top!
I hope whatever plans you have today, this upcoming week or in the next month, you spend time with your friends.
Fill up your cup ☕️!
Do you get to see your friends often enough? How do you make it happen? Or are you missing them and not sure how to make it all work with busy schedules?
Have you just spent time with friends? How was it? How did you feel after?
Have a great day!
Jules 💜
